webinar series organised by RIE Division, on: "Understanding the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on food security in Kenya and globally."
The COVID-19 pandemic is expected to exacerbate an already alarming food insecurity situation. Before the emergence of the pandemic, food insecurity was already on the rise in the region due to factors such as climatic shocks and livestock pests and diseases. The desert locust outbreak added to the already growing concerns. It is against this backdrop that the Committee on Fiscal Studies has organized a webinar on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on financing food security in Kenya and globally. The webinar will delve into issues on finance and food security during and after the COVID-19 pandemic to determine what steps governments can take to reduce the impact of the food crises that are bound to arise.
The webinar will be on Thursday 9th April 10am-12noon.
